How can we help?

Rallybound offers a flexible and feature-rich site editor to enable administrators to edit text and images on their sites. Some features of Rallybound's site editor:

  • Edit and add rich text, with many formatting options

  • Insert images and define how they flow with the text (click the image icon in the toolbar)

  • Add links and anchors (click the link or flag icon in the toolbar)

  • Edit the source HTML code, with the ability to include CSS and Javascript (click the "Source" button in the toolbar)

Not all elements of a page are editable. Elements that may be edited using the site editor will be highlighted in yellow after clicking "Enable Editing". They include:

  • Text blocks on static pages (homepage and information pages)

  • Page section titles
  • Preselected donation amounts (on donation page)

  • Site footer

Editing Your Site

To edit elements of your site:

  1. Visit your campaign site after logging in as an administrator at

  2. Click "Enable Editing" in the top right. (For advanced users and developers, some design elements of the entire site can be editing using the "Edit CSS" button.)

  3. Any block of text that turns yellow may be edited.

 Note for advanced users

Due to the flexibility of the site editor and the ability to insert Javascript code, adding and editing an area with Javascript requires a bit more attention. A common example of this is a page that includes accordion-style text areas that expand into a larger text area when clicked. To edit these sections, follow these steps:

  1. Set the state of the page before clicking “Enable Editing”. Once in the editing state, the Javascript is disabled. So, in our example, if you want to edit the content of an accordion area, first expand the accordion, then click “Enable Editing”.

  2. When you’re done editing, click “Save Changes” in the top right as usual. Then reload the page. You will notice that the Javascript state has been saved as well — in our example, the accordion will be expanded. In order to reset the Javascript to its original state, you’ll need to edit the page again:

  3. First, you’ll need to set the state of the page before editing, as we did above. In our example, collapse the accordion, then click “Enable Editing”.

  4. Change something insignificant on the page — like adding a space after a paragraph, then click “Save Changes”. You need to save the new state, but if the editor doesn’t detect any actual changes, it won’t be able to save.

  5. Now, when you reload the page, the page state should be correct.

Dynamic Content

Using Rallybound's Liquid Templating System, you can add fully dynamic content to any area in your site. Liquid objects that can be used in editable areas are:

  • Organization
  • Campaign
  • Current_User — returns the logged-in user. This can be used to personalize content based on a user's information, roles, and even custom field responses. Be sure to wrap your content in if tags so that users who are not logged in don't see underpopulated content.
